TheAKG P420 is a multi-pattern large-diaphragm condenser microphone formore demanding professional studio recording applications. Offeringhigh sensitivity and 155dB maximum SPL, the P420 delivers a warmtransparent sound quality ideally suited for ensemble recording, grandpiano, woodwind and brass instruments as well as drums and percussioninstruments. In addition, three selectable polar patterns – cardioid,omnidirectional or figure-eight – allow a wide range of stereo mikingtechniques and ambient recording.

Aswitchable bass cut filter and preattenuation pad enable the P420 to beused close to sound sources in sound fields as high as 155dB.

Themicrophone's chassis is made of precision-tooled zinc/aluminium alloyand boasts a dent resistant stainless-steel wire-mesh front grille. Itcomes complete with a spider-type shock mount in an aluminium carryingcase.
