As Cort's take on modern electroacoustics, the SFX series features Cort's unique slim body shape (83-83mm) with a comfortable cutaway, modern V-shaped neck profile, and jumbo frets for enhanced playability, part Arched back for enhanced resonance and Fishman electronics. The use of exotic Myrtlewood wood gives the SFX Myrtlewood a unique appearance that stands out from the rest of the series while allowing it to produce bright, clear sound with clear sound projection.

Myrtlewood whole body

Oregon Myrtle, also known as California Bay Laurel or Pepperwood, ranges in color from blonde yellow to taupe and makes very pretty guitars. No two sets are the same, so every guitar built is original. Tonally similar to Maple, clear and bright with good projection, but much easier to bend than Maple.

Aged to Vintage Top

A vintage instrument is the holy grail of acoustic guitar tone. The wood on top heals and opens more over time. This unleashes a tonal quality that is lacking in new instruments - until now. Using a special process we call ATV (Aged To Vintage) we treated the solid sitka spruce top to give it that big, open tone of a highly coveted decades-old acoustic. This roasting process delivers that incredible shade right out of the box.

Slim Body Depth with Arched Back

The slim 83mm x 83mm deep body was designed with playing comfort in mind. The arched back compensates for the shallow depth to provide a wider and more open sound.
