Seymour Duncan's STK-S4n Classic Stack Plus neck pickup solves the noise issue that's plagued vintage players once and for all. Its handwound Alnico V construction gives you the response and dynamic range you've enjoyed all your life. But a special bottom coil that injects negative hum into the circuit cleans up unwanted EMI/RFI quick as a whip. Seymour Duncan's wax potting does a great job of eliminating squeal from interrupting your solos. The STK-S4n: how does it work?

The STK-S4n and all Classic Strat Plus pickups feature a hum-attracting flux transfer plate that feeds into a small bottom coil equipped with a hum-neutralizing Helmholtz coil, whose only job in this operation is to gobble up the hum before it reaches your output jack. Unlike in traditional humbuckers, the much-larger top coil handles all the tone and dynamic transduction; the bottom coil is just there to clean up your signal path.
