Aquila 84U Red Series Soprano Low-G TuningUkulele Strings

AQUILA RED SERIES SOPRANO LOW-G TUNINGUKULELE STRINGS
Key of C GCEA set: a unique look and a strong, consistent sound.
Until now, it was necessary to increase a string’s gauge to reach lowerfrequencies. But increasing the string’s diameter also increasesinternal dampening. That make the string less bright, less responsiveand more muffled; the thicker the string, the duller the sound. Ourrevolutionary new approach—never introduced before us—changes thespecific weight of the material, increasing it progressively to leavethe gauge unchanged.
The result is amazing—the instrument sounds brighter, more powerful andmore responsive through the entire range of the fret board. The stringsalso maintain their intonation better (because thicker strings need tobe fretted harder, pulling them farther out of tune). Until now, thisresult was reached only with harps where the scale of the strings iscontinuously varied.
RED SERIES sets provide superior performance over traditional stringsfor musicians who love clear, sharp sounds and powerful voicing acrossthe full scale of the instrument.
You never heard a sound like this before, simply because before it didnot exist.
Who never dreamed of tuning the ukulele in low G, without using afourth wound string type?
Wound strings indeed, together with the quality of sound power showsproblems that in ukulele are very considered:
1) shorter lifetime than the treble strings
2) sound power too bright and intrusive compared to the plastic treblestrings
3) excessive sustain
4) noise caused by the fingers of the left hand
5) rapid oxidation of the metal wire in case of acid sweat
The only alternative solution used today is the use of a fluocarbonstring. Its performance, however, is never entirely satisfactorybecause a low string, to be really good, must not only use materialswith high density but also a bit flexible. Fluorocarbon isunfortunately a very stiff material.
Density, is indeed the secret for the sound quality of a low string.
We are happy to announce that we managed to win a difficulttechnological challenge (already tried by many others but withoutsuccess): unwound fourth strings now finally exist.
From now, you will finally be able to tune your ukulele in Low Gensuring sound power, sound quality and intonation on frets better thanthe fluorocarbon strings fully integrated with that of the upper treblestrings.
Attention! The Red Series strings must be stretched by yourfingers in a gentle way. Not too much. The settle up in tune in 2-3days.
IMPORTANT:
To avoid potential problems, please make sure the string slot in the nut is wide enough. This is easily determined by putting the string in the slot and visually checking the fitment before installing the string. A radiused lower edge at the fingerboard side is also very important. Some ukes have a sharp lower edge. These strings are very reliable under correct conditions.
Aquila Red Series strings are not covered by any replacement warranty per Aquila Strings. These are delicate strings and require proper replacement technique and stretching.
