The BOSS SD-1 Super Overdrive was launched in 1979 as an updated version of the original yellow-box BOSS Overdrive pedal, the OD-1. Its unique asymmetrical clipping circuit delivers an eerily amp-like feel that has set the standard for almost all overdrive pedals that has followed since.
