Catalina Maple’s mounting hardware includes a round “gas cap” bass drum mount plate and an ultra-low profile GTS mounting system. Gretsch T-Wing screws and bolts are included on all fittings for drummer-friendly feel and rubber isolated die-cast bass drum claws help keep bass drum hoops looking new.

The 7-ply Gretsch-formula maple shell has 30-degree bearing edges and natural shell interiors. Bass drums include telescopic bass drum spurs and matching maple wood bass drum hoops. Toms and snare drums feature 2.3mm triple flanged hoops. All drums are fitted with Remo® drum heads.

30-degree bearing edges

The Catalina Maple sounds just like you'd expect from a classic Gretsch kit, thanks to 30-degree bearing edges (where the hoop meets the shell). At 30 degrees, the surface area between the hoop and shell is maximized, which optimizes the transfer of vibration. That gives Gretsch drums a fast response, warm tone, and punchy impact, and you'll hear it in every drum in the Catalina Maple shell pack.

Durable lacquer finish

Finished with a multi-stage lacquer process, the Catalina Maple shell pack is one sweet-looking kit. But as Sweetwater drummers are well aware, looks aren't everything - the carefully applied finish is amazingly strong, helping protect your shells from life on the road.
