The lined fretless UBASS-RMBL-FL from Kala is an acoustic/electric Rumbler U-Bass fitted with an agathis top, back and sides, a mahogany neck, and a rosewood fingerboard and bridge. It can be used by musicians and students in recording studios, rehearsals, for playing live on stage, and more.

The fretless U-Bass produces the same pitches as a standard bass instrument and is tuned in traditional bass tuning: E-A-D-G. Featuring a 21" scale length, the Rumbler U-Bass has an active EQ and built-in tuner to provide tone control and spot-on tuning. The rosewood fingerboard on this fretless U-Bass has both lined fret markings and white dot markers at the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, and 12th positions to help identify where the 16 frets would be on the fretted version.

The black die-cast tuners ensure the instrument will stay in tune, and the Graphtech black TUSQ nut and saddle deliver a balanced tone. The Rumbler U-Bass is set up with Aquila Silver Rumbler strings and ships with a padded gig bag.

Amazing sound

I have 2 Rumblers. One has the Rumbler strings on it, the other has the the U•BASS® Flatwound 4-String Set by Gallistrings. Both sound amazing, especially the flatwounds which enable quick and sustaining slides, excellent intonation and deep upright bass tone. The Rumbler is stunning to look at and is built exceptionally well.

The KALA Rumbler has great sound and looks. The intonation is very good even with the rubbery strings. You can vary the sound from that of an upright bass to a PJ Electric guitar. The truss rod enables the use of flatwound strings too.
