Price of NOS 12AX7s got you down? This new production Tung-Sol 12AX7 made in Russia is the answer! Very low noise and microphonics, but if you've got a really high-gain phonostage the new Mullard re-issue might be a better choice. Gorgeous mids, beautiful dynamics, and a nice 3D soundstage. If you're looking for a smidge more relaxed top end, give the Mullard re-issue a try.

A quick note on this tube: The filaments on these Tung-Sols are almost completely encased in the plate structure. So if you don't see them glowing as bright as some of your other 12AX7s... don't sweat it. It's normal for this tube.
