The Schatten P2 is a dual pickup, four sensor system specially designed for upright or grand piano. Due to the size and construction of a piano, Schatten felt that the best balance and accuracy of sound reproduction could only be achieved by using two separate pickup sensing units. The Schatten P2 pickup system mounts quickly and easily to the exterior of the soundboard surface with supplied double sided tape and is designed to give you unsurpassed response and faithful, natural sound quality.

Each of the P2 pickup sensors includes two high quality, high output piezo transducers working in tandem to enhance sound quality and reduce the possibility of feedback. The units are strongly built and measure approximately 2-3/4" in length, 1-1/2" in width, and 1/2" in thickness. Each pickup sensor is prewired to a 10 foot shielded cable with a heavy duty 1/4" output plug for stereo (two channel) configurations. For mono applications, a 1/4" 'Y' adapter is included.

The P2 pickup system provides clean, clear sound reproduction, and has sufficient output to drive most amplifiers directly without a need for a preamp. If you are plugging into a mixer or PA system you may require a preamp to increase the signal strength to match that system. We recommend the Schatten Mini-Pre 2 dual channel preamp for this pickup system.
