Amos — a Flying V with a colorful history

Built in 1958, Joe Bonamassa’s Korina Flying V was one of 98 produced by Gibson in the ’50s. Even before it came into Joe’s possession, this legendary instrument had been showcased in books, magazines, and more. Remember Nigel Tufnel’s Flying V in the film This is Spinal Tap? That was Joe’s axe. Joe bought the guitar from Arthur’s Music Store in Indianapolis just in time for his 2015 Three Kings Tour and christened it “Amos” after Amos Arthur, the founder of the store. Joe’s ’58 Flying V is renowned for its unusually powerful pickups. But despite their abnormally strong magnetism, these humbuckers retain all their warmth and clarity. The Joe Bonamassa Amos Pickup Set replicates this hard-to-achieve sound.
