Designed to look and sound like the originals, the Seymour Duncan SJB-1B Vintage Jazz Bass bridge pickup serves up the legendary growl of the Jazz Bass single-coil bridge pickups of the early ’60s. Smooth and punchy, the SJB-1B delivers a brightness that’s a perfect balance for the warmth of its matching neck model. It’s a drop-in bridge position replacement for any American Standard Jazz Bass. (Mexican Standard Jazz Basses use two neck-sized pickups). Pair with Duncan’s Vintage Jazz Bass neck model (available separately) for a perfectly balanced, hum-canceling (with both pickups’ volume controls up full) set.

Period-correct construction for superior tone and responsiveness

Since 1978, Seymour Duncan has been hand-building all of their vintage Fender-style single-coil pickups with the perfect color and thickness of Forbon flatwork, along with the vintage-correct hand-ground Alnico V rod magnets. Every pickup comes complete with waxed and tinned cloth push-back hookup wires. Duncan hand files the flatwork, assembles, and lacquers the bobbin just as it was done during Fender’s Golden Age. For an authentic look, the Seymour Duncan SJB-1B Vintage Jazz Bass bridge pickup comes with a black no-logo cover. Many bassists have retrofitted their American Standard Jazz Basses with this pickup and are enjoying its superior tone and responsiveness. You will, too.
