TheCustom CustomTM is our SH-5 Duncan CustomTM humbucker with an Alnico IImagnet for warm and smooth highs, more midrange, and a spongier bottomend than the SH-5. It's a good choice for players who need atraditional vintage tone with increased output. Comes withfour-conductor hookup cable.

Recommendedfor bridge position. Often a Custom Custom is paired with a PearlyGates for bluesy P.A.F. tones in the neck.

Forbrighter toned instruments. Works especially well with maple and ebonyfingerboards.

Humbucker/Trembucker

Humbuckers and Trembuckers are very similar to each other, and mosthumbucker models also come in Trembucker versions. TheTrembucker-spaced JB, for example, is a TB-4 and the humbucker-spacedversion in an SH-4. The only difference is the wider spacing of thepole pieces on the Trembucker versions. This spacing issue only appliesto the bridge position pickup, which is why Trembuckers are recommendedfor the bridge position. Trembuckers are designed for wider string mostcommonly associated with Floyd Rose or vintage vibrato bridges (oftencalled Tremolos) with a string spacing of 2.070″ or 52.6mm, measuredcenter of high string to center of low string over the bridge pickup.Humbuckers are designed for bridges with traditional Gibson humbuckerstring spacing of 1.930″ or 49mm, measured center of high string tocenter of low string over the bridge pickup. Humbucker spaced pickupswork in both bridge and neck positions, even with a Trembucker-spacedbridge pickup. A quick and easy way to tell which you need is tomeasure from the middle of the high string to the middle of the lowstring, directly over the pickup. If the distance is greater than twoinches or 50mm, go for a Trembucker. If it’s less than two inches or50mm, go for a humbucker.
