The wood quality is exceptional, especially the maple back and scroll.  The sound holes and scroll appear to match examples of known Geissenhof violins.   The top has quite a bit of wear and several repaired cracks that are properly cleated.Including a sound post crack  It has also had a repair just beneath the button.

We are not experts in authentication violins, and would not state this is a genuine Geissenhof. My guess would be it was made around the mid 1800's by a single master maker. It is not a trade instrument.

Has been fully set up, including a new set of strings and an Aubert deluxe bridge, as well as a new sound Post.

All cracks have been professionally repaired and are stable.

Violin has a rich mellow mature sound that will surely improve regular playing.
